A local married couple were in care. When the wife was pregnant with their first child they read every book and asked everyone they knew for advice. When they had their second child they had no family to look after the first child so the husband stayed at home looking after teh first child rather than being at the bedside of his wife on the birth of the second child. These are professionally very capable people but some help and support would have been so gratefully received and would also have made parenthood a pleasure rather than a source of constant worry.
